Supported Independent Living
Day to day support in shared or individual accommodation, built around your household and your goals.

What it involves
Support with daily tasks, personal care and building independence skills, in shared or individual accommodation. That covers the practical parts of a day, from morning routines and meals through to getting out of the house, and the slower work of learning to do more of it yourself.
What is included
The things this support covers day to day. If something you need is not on the list, ask us anyway.
- Personal care including showering, dressing and grooming
- Meal planning, shopping and cooking together
- Medication prompting and routine health support
- Household tasks and keeping the home running
- Building skills for greater independence over time
- Overnight and 24-hour support where the plan allows
- Support to get to appointments and activities
Who it is for
Participants who need higher levels of support to live independently, in individual or shared accomodation.
What makes it different
Support built around each person’s routine and goals, delivered by a consistent team who get to know them and their household.
How this support starts
You get in touch
Send a referral or call. Tell us about the person, their plan, and what they need help navigating.
We assess and match
We meet you, confirm what your funding covers, and put forward the workers or clinicians who actually fit.
Support begins
Your team steps in, and stays. We review with you regularly and adjust as things change.
Am I eligible
Eligibility depends on the scheme, and the referral process is a little different for each. Choose the one that applies to you.
If you have an NDIS plan, Support Independent Living is a specific, separately funded support, it needs to be written into your plan, usually under Core Supports. It is not automatically included, so it is worth checking with your support coordinator or planner if you are not sure whether yours includes it.
You do not need a doctor’s referral to start SIL with us. We will confirm what your plan covers before anything begins, and tell you plainly if it does not cover what you are asking for.
We currently support self managed and plan managed participants. The management type changes how invoices are handled, not the support you receive.
You do not need to be the participant to talk to us. Family members, carers, support coordinators, and planners can all make referrals, and we will speak with you about eligibility before anyone commits to anything.
Moving into Support Independent Living for the first time is a big step. We involve family early, in choosing housemates, location and how the transition is paced, because getting that right matters as much as the day to day support afterward.
Common questions
The things people ask us most often about this support.
SIL is the support workers and the help you receive. SDA is the building itself. They are funded separately, and you can receive SIL in a home you already live in without SDA funding.
No. SIL can be delivered in your existing home, in a shared arrangement, or in a new place if that is what you want. The support follows you.
Yes. We match on culture, language, interests and clinical need, and you meet workers before they become part of your regular roster.
We review with you regularly and adjust the roster. If your needs increase beyond what your current plan funds we will help you gather the evidence for a plan review.
